Biography
Dr Damon Bell received his MB ChB from the University of Otago in 2000. He completed his physician training in Endocrinology (FRACP, 2010) and chemical pathology training (FRCPA, 2009) at Wellington Hospital in New Zealand. He has subsequently gained expertise in both the pathologic and clinical aspects of cardiometabolic genetic diseases including the inherited aspects of lipid, hypertension and diabetic disorders.
His research interests focus on optimising the detection and management of familial hypercholesterolaemia and he was awarded a PhD from the University of Western Australia in 2016. Damon gained his Fellowship of the Faculty of Science (FFSc) of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2017.
Damon's clinical private endocrine practice is located at the WA Specialist Clinic in Osborne Park. His clinical expertise includes genetic and acquired lipid disorders, hypertension, cardiometabolic disorders and metabolism in addition to general endocrinology.
He is also physician/Associate Professor in the School of Medicine, University of Western Australia based at Royal Perth Hospital. Damon remains actively involved in research and has authored over 65 formal peer reviewed publications and is currently supervising Masters and PhD students.
