Biography
Dr Matich studied at Otago University, New Zealand, where he graduated BSc. Biochem,1972; MBChB, 1977; Diploma Clinical Pathology, 1983, and FRCPA, Histopathology and Cytopathology,1986.
After a year of working at Royal Perth Hospital, he worked in private pathology in Perth, far North Queensland and Bunbury Pathology.
This was interspersed with two years as a locum dermatopathologist in the United Kingdom, and four years as specialist (lead) breast pathologist at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Seeking the warmth of the antipodes he returned to Bunbury in 2009 where he is the only regionally-based pathologist in WA.
Dr Matich's specialist interests and training are mainly in histopathology and cytopathology, including Fine Needle Aspiration.
