Dr Sharon Halasz

Dr Sharon Halasz graduated from the University of Western Australia. She trained in Clinical Microbiology at Royal Perth Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, King Edward Memorial Hospital, and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

After gaining her fellowship, Dr Halasz initially worked as a Clinical Microbiologist at Princess Margaret and King Edward Memorial Hospitals. A six-month position at Sullivan & Nicolaides Pathology in Queensland was her first exposure to private pathology. Her next appointment was as Staff Specialist at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney.

Private pathology, and her home state beckoned again. Dr Halasz returned to Western Australia in1997 to work at Western Diagnostic Pathology. She has remained in local private pathology ever since, moving to St John of God Pathology in 2011, then joining Clinipath Pathology in 2018
