The My Health Record system is a national digital health record system, managed by the Australian Government. Having a My Health Record gives you a secure electronic summary of your health information and means you, and any participating doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals involved in your care, with your consent, will have access to a summary of your information – including medications, allergies and immunisations.

This will contribute to better, safer and more efficient care for you. Information in your My Health Record can include your personal details and important health information such as discharge summaries from hospitals, allergies, medical conditions and treatments, medicine details and test or scan reports.

If you are unsure if you have a My Health Record please visit My Health Record for more information or call 1300 506 005.

Clinipath Pathology can upload your pathology test results to MyHR.  During this process, we confirm your Individual Health Identifier (IHI) and then upload your pathology test results.  Clinipath Pathology cannot see any documents or other personal health information stored against your MyHR account.

Your pathology test results will always be sent to your referring doctor, and any other doctor you or your referring doctor has requested a copy of the results.

We upload your results to MyHR if you or your doctor has requested this.

We upload tests of certain results to the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR).  For more information, please visit www.ncsr.gov.au.

If you would like any further information on privacy and security of MyHR, please visit the Government site:

The best way to ensure all your results are continually uploaded to MyHR is to confirm your doctor is using electronic requesting.  If your doctor’s practice is enabled to send an electronic order to Clinipath Pathology for your pathology tests, and you have not removed your consent for your results to be uploaded to MyHR, we will automatically send a copy of your pathology test results to MyHR.

The second option is for you to submit a request to our practice for a copy of your pathology tests results to be sent to MyHR.  Please contact us by emailing the Lab Results Team.  You will need to request this every time you have a test if your doctor does not use electronic requesting.

Yes, your pathology test results will always be sent to your referring doctor and any other doctor that you or your referring doctor has requested a copy of the results.

Following completion of your pathology testing, your results will be uploaded to MyHR.  From this time your results will be available for healthcare providers to view your results.

MyHR places a 7 day delay on individuals being able to view their pathology reports.

Your pathology test results will only be uploaded to MyHR if you have not withdrawn your consent at the time of referral.  Following completion of your pathology testing, your results will be uploaded to MyHR.  Your results will be available for healthcare providers to view.  MyHR places a 7 day delay on individuals being able to view their pathology reports.

Some tests can take longer than 1 week to be completed, and will not be uploaded until that testing is complete.

MyHR matches your pathology test results to your individual MyHR based on key personal information such as full name, date of birth, Medicare number and address.  Sometimes this personal information does not match, and we are unable to successfully upload your pathology test results to MyHR.  You will need to contact MyHR to discuss the personal information that is recorded on your individual MyHR.

Your pathology test results will only be uploaded to MyHR if you have not withdrawn your consent.  Please inform your doctor at the time of requesting pathology tests that you do not want your records uploaded to MyHR.

Do not use the tick box on the request forms. This was introduced some time ago by the Australian Digital Health Authority (ADHA) and is not functional.

You are in control of your individual MyHR.  You are able to remove, restrict or hide information within ‘Documents’.  Information on how to do this is available from MyHR.

You can also contact MyHR to discuss how to remove any records if you are unable to do this yourself.

Your referring doctor will always receive a copy of your pathology test results.  You should make an appointment to talk to your doctor about any questions or concerns with your test results.
